ExcaFix — French drain

A written warranty that matches the work

When a warranty applies, its scope, duration, conditions and exclusions are spelled out in the quote or in the contract.

What can be covered

Depending on the nature and the scope of the project, the written warranty can cover one or more of the following items, when the contract says so expressly:

  • New installation of a complete French drain
  • Full replacement of a French drain
  • Partial drain repair (on the section that was worked on)
  • Crack injection with epoxy or polyurethane
  • Membrane installed as part of eligible drain work
  • Backfilling and grading

How long the warranty lasts

The duration depends on the type of work, the materials and the conditions written into the contract. Any manufacturer warranties are separate and remain subject to their own terms.

What is excluded

The exclusions that apply are the ones listed in the warranty document. Depending on the project, they can include:

  • Damage caused by a natural disaster
  • Changes made by someone else after our work
  • Clear lack of drain maintenance (the applicable threshold, if there is one, is the one written in the warranty document)
  • Damage caused by the roots of trees planted after our work

How to make a claim

  1. Call us at 514-894-4552 or write to us by email
  2. Send us the invoice, the contract and a description of the problem
  3. A visit can be scheduled to determine the cause and confirm coverage
  4. The next steps are confirmed according to the terms of the applicable warranty

Our RBQ licence

We hold RBQ Licence 5681-8941-01. A licence issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec attests that the contractor has demonstrated the required qualifications and has provided the licence bond set out in the regulations. It is not, in itself, a warranty on the work.

You can check the status of our licence at any time in the RBQ register of licence holders, at rbq.gouv.qc.ca. A licence bond does exist, but it can only be called upon in the cases and within the conditions and limits provided for in the regulations. For any claim about our work, contact us first: the procedure described above is what applies.
